Our online calendar of events shows the days and locations when we meet for meditation as well as dates of upcoming programs, classes, nyinthuns, and Shambhala cafés.

Shambhala Training Programs

Shambhala Training is a secular meditation program which emphasizes both a deepening experience of meditation and an integration of that experience into daily life. By bringing the mindfulness cultivated through meditation into everyday experience, we are able to change our own lives and the world around us. Shambhala Training is presented initially in a series of five weekend workshops, which is part of a path which includes further study in graduate programs.

Community News and Events

Shambhala Café
(Usually held on the first Sunday of each Month)

Join us for Shambhala Café, a warm introduction to Shambhala Buddhism and the Cleveland Shambhala Meditation Group. Shambhala Café is a monthly gathering at our downtown center to share food, meditation, discussion and social time. Check the online calendar of events for the most up-to-date information.

10-11am: meditation (individual meditation instruction will be available)
11am-noon: coffee, tea and delectables along with discussion and a short presentation or reading. If you are curious about Buddhism or the Shambhala path, this is a good opportunity to ask questions in a comfortable environment. Those with a meditation practice will be able to add more practice time by coming earlier and stay to discuss the dharma with friends.

You can choose to arrive at 10:00 to meditate or receive meditation instruction, or come later at 11:00 and join us for the informal discussion.

All are Welcome

Recent Events at the Cleveland Shambhala Meditation Center:

  • Shambhala Day Celebration: Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year, and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. In the morning we did sitting meditation including the Elixir of Life Sadhana and the Sadhana of Mahamudra followed by the ever-popular phone link with worldwide roll-call, address by community President Mr. Richard Reoch, and the address by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. We shared a festive potluck lunch.
