Frequently Asked Questions

Cleveland Shambhala Meditation Group (CSMG)
Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

What is meditation?  How can I learn more about meditation?

Our basic meditation practice, called shamatha-vipashyana, works with the breath to cultivate awareness and insight into the nature of mind. Through meditation we learn how to make friends with ourselves, which allows us to open up to others.

Free meditation instruction, taught by authorized senior students, is available at our regular meetings.  A discussion or presentation usually follows each meditation session.

When and where does the CSMG Meet?

Our regular meditation sessions meet weekly in both Cleveland and Akron :

All regular meditation sessions are free and open to the public.

How can I contact the CSMG?

The affairs of the Cleveland Shambhala Meditation Group are managed by the CSMG Shambhala Council; please feel free to contact any council member if you have questions about the group or any of our programs.
