Harvest of Peace

October 6th

Date details +
    Room: Lakewood Center

Come celebrate the bounty of the season at Cleveland Shambhala! Harvest of Peace is one of Shambhala’s Nyida holidays, marking the changing of the seasons. It is a time to gather together for meditation, good food, and good conversation. A time to contemplate what nourishes, strengthens, and sustains us, individually, and as a community.

Appreciation is at the heart of this Harvest of Peace celebration. We have so much to be thankful for — the teachings of our lineage, our beautiful space, the talents and generosity of our community, our sangha and time spent together.

The day will start with sitting meditation, followed by practice of the Shambhala Sadhana, a unique opportunity to contemplate basic goodness and the wish to benefit all beings. Then there will be an administration of oaths to incoming and outgoing council members and a brief address by our Director. We will end with a celebratory potluck lunch and socializing.

    • 9:30 a.m. Coffee, tea, smiles and maybe even hugs
    • 10:00 a.m. (Sharp!) Meditation and Shambhala Sadhana practice.  (The sadhana is a lovely practice that connects us with our own innate, basic goodness as well as that of others.)
    • 11:00-ish: Greetings from the Center Director and other announcements.
    • 12:00 noon-ish: POTLUCK!!  Bring something delicious to share!
    • 1:30 p.m -ish: Clean up and done!

You may take part in some or all of the activities. Open to all — family and friends are invited. There is no cost, though donations are gratefully accepted. We look forward to seeing you!
